KAREN has been named as one of two finalists in the TUANZ Next Generation Fibre-Optic Network Award category of the TUANZ Innovation Awards 2007.

This award recognises the fibre-optic network project which makes the most significant contribution to moving New Zealand towards next generation fibre-based telecommunications.

Being named as a finalist is great kudos for KAREN, and reinforces the essential role KAREN is playing in enabling New Zealand, for the first time in decades, to be an equal player on the global innovation stage.

The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner on Thursday 11 October 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Auckland.
