KAREN links research and education organisations across New Zealand through a series of 16 Points of Presence, or PoPs. 

KAREN serves thousands of researchers and educators, from Crown research institutes, universities, libraries, schools, polytechnics, museums and private sector partners across New Zealand through a series of 16 Points of Presence, or PoPs.

The network also connects with similar high-speed national research and education networks across the world, through international connection to Sydney and Seattle, and through them networks in Asia and Europe.

KAREN will be continually evolving, with an emphasis on flexibility of functionality, supply, scalability and reach. Its development will be influenced by the needs of members.
