The National Education Network trial has been extended for participating schools until the end of 2009.
During 2008, REANNZ ran a hugely successful National Education Network (NEN) proof of concept trial that connected schools and content and service providers to KAREN. This trial proved the educational benefits of advanced connectivity and tested the architectural principles of the National Education Network. NEN schools have been making the most of their access to super fast broadband into 2009.
The Ministry of Education has agreed to extend the trial until 30 December 2009 while it works on options for the future of schools networking.
This is great news for participating NEN schools who will continue to have access to the best online resources for learning and collaboration.
