The University of Canterbury's High Performance Research Symposium - 4 August 2008, Queenstown - will set the scene for APAN26, showcasing best practice e-Research projects, programmes and tools.
Speakers include Professor Ian Foster (Director, Computation Institute, Argonne National Laboratory & University of Chicago).
Ian Foster is an expatriate New Zealander and University of Canterbury graduate of who pioneered the concept of grid computing and cyber-infrastructure.

APAN26 - New Zealand’s premier digital event for 2008 - showcases first-hand how ICT developments and advanced networks like KAREN are accelerating research and collaboration in the Asia Pacific region and are contributing towards environmental, regional and operational sustainability. The conference is being held 4 - 8 August 2008 in Queenstown, New Zealand.
