Further speakers confirmed for the High Performance Research Symposium (HPRS)
Three speakers have been confirmed to speak alongside Ian Foster at HPRS:
- Dr Bill Appelbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Victorian Partnership For Advanced Computing (VPAC) and formerly the Head of the Computer Science Department at RMIT.
- Dr Marienne Hibbert, the Project Director of BioGrid Australia
- Dr Richard Blaikie, Deputy Director of The MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, and Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Canterbury.
Why and how to attend the Symposium
The Symposium will:
- demonstrate the benefits of e-Research projects currently underway in New Zealand, and introduce overseas best practise examples
- act as an informal catalyst for collaboration and further development of e-Research networks
HPRS is being hosted by the University of Canterbury's BlueFern™ super computer facility.
