KAREN, the Kiwi Advanced Research and Education Network, is increasing the value of network membership by introducing clear guidelines for organisations to connect to KAREN for the purpose of providing services and content to the research and education community in New Zealand.
TelstraClear and Objective Corporation are the first two Accredited Service and Content Partners on KAREN.
Accredited Service and Content Partners on KAREN will be able to provide all KAREN Members with innovative solutions to support better research and education outcomes for the country. Members of KAREN are currently the universities, Crown research institutes and the National Library, and will include all schools, libraries, archives, art galleries and museums in the future.
“It is clear that all of our members, from the big research universities to the smallest schools, value the advanced, unrestricted bandwidth that KAREN delivers today. It is a natural evolution for us to enable the country’s private sector to respond to Member demands for innovative solutions over this connectivity”, says Donald Clark, Chief Executive REANNZ.
