Breaking Down Barriers: Global Connections

Beginning in the early hours of tomorrow morning NZ time, Megaconference X will showcase the latest real-world uses of videoconferencing for research and education, while using videoconferencing to do so. You can watch the streamed sessions for free.

The Megaconference connects people from all over the world, in order to further the use of videoconferencing in education and research and to advance the state of the art in videoconferencing technology.

Megaconference programme

While there are no presentations from New Zealand this time around (and you may be inspired to present at next year's conference...), our closest neighbours have sessions on:

  • The Challenges of Space Liveability: Dr John Cokley from the University of Queensland School of Journalism and Communication, will present on preparing a media policy for future space communities as a way to improving the liveability and viability of those communities.
  • An Experience in Australian Indigenous Culture: This will be a cultural presentation by the students of Giralang Primary School in Canberra, Australia showing some of what they have learned while studying Australia's unique indigenous culture. Lead by renowned indigenous artist and performer Duncan Smith, the students will present an engaging cultural experience including music, dance, art and story.

For descriptions of the 50-odd sessions see the Megaconference programme.
