Rural KAREN school becomes hub for fibre network

Newly KAREN connected Mangamaire School is the nerve centre for a new 'fibre-to-the-farm' network for the local community.

Last week, Mangamaire, a small town north of Eketahuna, launched its ‘fibre to the farm’ network providing fast broadband to the local community. Mangamaire School is the nerve centre for the network, with the community and local farmers able to connect to the network to help them run their businesses.

Shrinking the world with KAREN

As part of the fibre project, Mangamaire School was connected to KAREN and is a participant of the National Education trial. Donald joined in the launch of the school’s KAREN connection via video conference last week. He showcased some of the incredible resources available over KAREN to support teaching and learning:
