IPTV trials on JANET go mainstream

UK Company Inuk has been trialing an IPTV multicast service over the UK's advanced network, JANET, for the last year.

The trials have been successful and the company now plans to scale up its offering into a full commercial service.  It is appears to be pursuing a wholesale model where it will work with ISPs and LLU providers to deliver service to retail customers.

Inuk met recently with Bill St Arnaud in Canada, a global thought leader on R&E networks, and indicated the service may shortly be made available to all the R&E networks around the world.
