A High Performing Computing (HPC) Workshop is being organised by the Royal Society to share information about current HPC projects, existing facilities, grid middleware tools and networks.
The workshop also aims to reach a preliminary position on the desired state for HPC resources and to identify areas of coordinated activity. The outcome is to design a path forward and allocate tasks to achieve this.
The meeting will be chaired by Professor Ian Town, Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Canterbury.
The meeting, initially planned to be held in Wellington, has had a change of venue to fit in with the Australasian High Energy Physics and Medical Physics Conference (http://www2.phys.canterbury.ac.nz/~jcw83/conf/index.php). It will now be held at the Great Hall, The Chateau-on-the-Park, Christchurch at 2pm ~5pm on Thursday, 19 October. The HPC workshop has been designed to fit in with the Australasian High Energy Physics and Medical Physics Conference programme.
