Vicki Lindsay, 10/06/2009 11:13am

The BRCSS Network invite you to participate in a seminar via the Access Grid on social science and environmental applications of remote sensing on Friday 19 June from 9 - 11am Wednesday 24 June from 1 - 3pm.

eResearch is not just for the hard Sciences

John Gibson, Stephen Sheppard and Xiangsheng Deng will provide a non-technical discussion of satellite remote sensing, summarise some recent social science and economics applications that use satellite remote sensing data, and discuss factors that currently constrain greater use of such data by social scientists. They will also examine the possible role of KAREN in facilitating more timely interpretation of remote sensing images.
