Insight into Supercomputing: vidconf

BlueFerm @ NZi3, 12/06/2009 10:17am

If supercomputing is your thing you're invited to participate in the first BlueFern user group meeting where Colin McMurtrie will give highlights from the Supercomputing 2008 conference.

BlueFern meeting

In November 2008, Colin McMurtrie from BlueFern attended Supercomputing 08 - the international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis. Colin received funding through the KAREN Capability Build Fund to attend this event.

At today's first BlueFern user group meeting, Colin will talk about his trip to Supercomputing 08 and how the new skills and expertise gathered from this trip are being used to increase high performance computing capability in NZ. This meeting is being held via the KAREN video conferencing bridge.

This will be a relatively informal meeting, and all users of the BlueFern high performance computing facility and your colleagues are encouraged to attend.

Agenda

  • Colin McMurtrie - 15-20 mins - Supercomputing 08
  • Tony Dale and Vladimir Mencl - recent LoadLeveler queue changes
