AusGrid 2009 is being held in conjunction with the Australasian Computer Science Week, Wellington, New Zealand, 20 - 23 January, 2009.
Interest in Grid computing in Australasia and internationally is rapidly growing, driven by real-world applications of increasing scale and complexity.
In both New Zealand and Australia eResearch and Grid computing have been recognised as strategic technologies for driving their moves towards knowledge economies. A number of projects and initiatives are underway in both countries in these areas. There is a natural interest in tools which support collaboration and access to remote resources given the challenges of the countries location and sparse populations.
Topics of interest for the symposium include:
The symposium is primarily targeted at researchers from Australia and New Zealand, however in the spirit of grid computing, which aims to enable collaboration of distributed virtual organisations, we encourage papers and participation from international researchers.
The Australasian Computer Science Week is the annual meeting for computer science researchers and educators held in the Australasian region. It includes the Australasian Computer Science Conference (ACSC), the premiere generalist forum for Australasian computer science academics, as well as several specialist conferences and workshops.
